The Ten Central Ohio Technical College learners were not entirely sure in regards to what been thinking during the time of their educational schooling that been sent through an email in regards to the entire expenses that been paid upon traveling for College Italy program into this summer season. According to Sarah Hackemoeller who current the Newark campus learner stated her point of view with mix emotions in regards to the free schooling travel in Italy. Since, their first COTC international travel educational program is entirely been happening just thankful towards the donation from Gib Reese and Lou who have entirely thought that its quite essential toward other individuals upon experiencing foreign cultural setting. According to John Berry; who is the current COTC Vice President for the Enrollment Management and Student Life. Reeses got a home that been located in Reggello, Italy that’s been the city where about 10 learners will be staying for about 12 days especially in the month of July and they are now leaving in the month of July 18. It’s been considered that Reggello as the Newark towards Columbus as for France according to Berry. They would probably not be picking Reggello except this Reeses that are entirely ingrained there. Aside of that, its been consider as a good location into this region of Tuscany and students will now be traveling in Florence, Pisa, Rome and various cities while still staying with their respective host families in the Reggello.
According to Cheryl White who recently graduated in COTC Knox Campus will now be turning 50 during its travel in Italy and she entirely been thinking it as an exciting part. Since, they actually be going as being part of their family in just couple of weeks. Aside of that, they will be gaining a full time guide in hand on hand setting as they will be traveling from one place to the other. Its been consider as a competitive educational program, learners will entirely be evaluated basing on the academic record that been got, COTC involvement, interviewing and to its essay. Berry also stated that about 54 students from various colleges in Knox, Coshocton, Pataskala, and Newark school campus have applied. Their respective ages ranges from 19 till 51. Christine Henning from Pataskala stated that she really did not have a fuller grasps in regards to the average age. Henning have traveled across U.S. during her teenage years but together with five boys that ranges 5-22 years old and she has not yet able to travel ever since. Most of their 10 learners have either had not yet travel abroad. Meanwhile, Bryanna Stigger from Newark also stated to the mere fact of not yet traveling farther from its respective home than in West Virginia.
She also stated that Newark, Ohio as its precious place and it’s her first time to be on plane and quite nervous about it but might be going big to it. Aside of that, the group also stated that there were entirely excited of seeing an ancient buildings and even experiencing cultural tradition as much as possible. According to Dina Morrow of Coshocton who have just recently graduated from the COTC’s nursing educational program stated of wanting to see on how they will be going to take care of this individuals with various disabilities or towards those older individuals. During the time that students will be returning in Ohio, they will be providing presentation in COTC board of trustees into this season of fall that includes video that been produce through this digital media designing learner who is Tom Ellis who is a Newark Campus Student. This educational program is not entirely for credit purposes but for experience setting. In some other ways, it would be more consider as a mere obstacle because they would be paying for their summer credits according to Berry and they don’t entirely be paying a dime other than its souvenir money.
The Pahiatua’s Tararua College’s particularly in the art department and its students have already set a plan and even scheduling their upcoming educational trip to Italy by 2011 of April. But the greater challenge that they faces on is to raise about $118,000 in the midst of economic recession in order to send about 17 rural students to Italy for their art educational trip. According to Lisa Purda who is the head of the art department of this Pahiatua’s Tararua College that her students were entirely demonstrate an outstanding talents in art field. As a result, the students are very much excited of going its trip to Italian College trip in order to see several works of arts that been created by the worlds greatest artist. Lisa Purda said that they strongly feel that these rural kids don’t get the same opportunities upon traveling on overseas that most city students have already experience.
With that, the group is planning to have a stop over in Dubai in order for the students be able to experience its first hand culture that is not based on Western only but rather go on for the nation in Florence, Venice, Rome, Milan, Verona, and Pisa. In which, they will be able to see the original artworks that been made by Leonardo de Vinci, Botticelli, and Michelangelo. As of now, the students had just already raised about $10,000 for its educational trip. So part of that experience was entirely for educational learning that they need to do for themselves and that they were will be nobody to give some handouts on them. So, it will be their initiative upon coming up some aspects that will support for their fundraising towards going to Italy that includes selling their old clothing, bottles, newspapers, or performing a live musical jamming.
The musical live jamming was already been organize with the support of the jazz vocalist or singer who is Aivale Cole. In which, he will be performing in the Rodger Fox Big in the Regent of Broadway theatre of Palmerston North for about 3pm. The income of these musical jamming will go the Tararua College educational art trip to College Italy. According to Mrs. Purda that this Ms Cole is very much generous and she wanted to support these art students in order to expand their educational learning especially upon seeing the prestigious work of art in Italy galleries. The tickets that been sold ranges from $15 to $35.
